Micashift Powder by 8bit Baits are Mica based color shifting powder pigments designed for use in a variety of applications. Micashift Powder Interference Pearls are able to to be mixed into plastisol for soft plastic injection, safe for use in epoxy and resin clear coats, and the incredibly small particle size of 10 - 60 microns makes it compatible with airbrush applications as well. Interference Pearls should be used in a similar fashion to a highlight powder. They are not optically clear which means they can "cloud" or opaque the plastisol depending on the amount used. Interference Pearls can still be used in clear belly applications in small amounts without much opaqueness, but they can also be used added to a wide range of base colors. Micashift Powder Interference Pearls have a very high level of vibrancy which looks fantastic not only in sunlight but also in the water.
The Micashift Powders lineup are Mica based which give them many benefits. The powders have high heat resistance so they will not burn or degrade when mixing into hot plastisol, and they can withstand multiple re-heats. The Interference Pearls have a small particle size between 10 - 60 microns that are able to be used in airbrush applications when using nozzles that are 0.3mm or larger. The mica base also provides chemical and solvent resistance, making Micashift Powders a great addition to be mixed into epoxy and clear coats for special effects. Suitable for use in both solvent-based and water-based mediums.
Micashift Powder pigments are cosmetic grade pigments and non-toxic to the skin and touch, however due to the small micron particle size it is highly recommended to wear the proper PPE (Personal Protection Equipment), to prevent inhalation of the powder particles. Users should not Inhale or Ingest Micashift Powder.
Example baits shown are made using 1 cup of plastisol and 1/4 tsp of Micashift Powder. One example is shown in clear plastisol and the other example is shown with 20 drops of Lureworks Black Plastisol Colorant added.
